Project overview

The IRIS / ZayZoon Integration connects IRIS payroll products with ZayZoon, an earned wage access (EWA) and financial wellness platform. Employees can access a portion of wages they have already earned before payday - with the payroll systems staying in sync behind the scenes.

Announced as a strategic partnership between IRIS Software Group and ZayZoon, the integration spans Payroll Relief and Swipeclock / WorkforceHub. It is a high-profile feature that supports revenue for both companies and brings EWA to employees across thousands of organizations.

Product capabilities described here are public-facing. Implementation details stay high-level to respect employer confidentiality, and no payroll screenshots are shown for the same reason.

My role

I built the C# / .NET Framework API that powers the payroll side of this integration — the connection between IRIS payroll and ZayZoon. That was a unique chance to work on the payroll side of IRIS; day-to-day I usually work on the timekeeping side at Swipeclock (also part of IRIS, but under a completely different product line). The API underpins the integration end-to-end: enabling the payroll connection, keeping status in sync, and supporting the earned-wage flows employees and employers rely on.
