WorkforceHub Holiday Configuration

Full-stack admin UI for paid holidays and who receives holiday pay
Project overview

WorkforceHub Holiday Configuration is an admin feature in Swipeclock's WorkforceHub product for configuring paid holidays on an account - which holidays the company observes, and which employees should receive holiday pay for them.

Like Punch Categories, this replaced a legacy pop-out flow with a modern, in-product page that matches WorkforceHub's UI/UX and is easier to use. While rebuilding it, we also surfaced improved capabilities that were always possible in the system but the old page never exposed to users. This page was built for WorkforceHub only (not backported to TimeWorksPlus).

Product capabilities described here are public-facing. Implementation details stay high-level to respect employer confidentiality and proprietary information.

My role

I built both sides of this feature: the React frontend and the C# / .NET Framework API backend - owning the holiday configuration experience end-to-end, including role-based access for who can manage holidays and pay rules. I designed the layout of this UI, inspired by some existing flows in the product but heavily improved upon. I tried to improve the overall user experience and make it more intuitive and easy to use.

What this project delivered

High-level outcomes of the full-stack work - framed around product value, not internal design docs.

In-product experience

Replaced the disjointed legacy pop-out with a modern page that lives inside WorkforceHub.

React frontend

Built a cleaner holiday management UI - year views, custom holidays, observed/paid toggles, and rules.

.NET Framework API

Backend services power holiday configuration, observation rules, and paid-holiday settings.

Role-based functionality

Access and available actions are gated by role so admins and providers only see what they should.

Newly exposed capabilities

Surfaced options that were always possible in the platform but unavailable in the old legacy UI.

Easier holiday management

Streamlined how companies define observed holidays and who gets paid - without leaving WorkforceHub.

Product features at a glance

  • Custom holidays - add holidays with name, recurrence, and observed-on rules
  • Observed & paid - mark holidays as observed and/or paid for the account
  • Employee groups - define which groups observe a holiday and receive holiday pay
  • Paid rules - conditional or unconditional pay, hours type, and punch category
  • Year-based setup - manage holidays by year and carry forward if desired
  • Admin & provider access - available to company admins and providers
