What is Factions3 Renewed?

Factions3 Renewed is a Minecraft plugin written in Java for Spigot/Paper servers. It is a continuation of the plugin Factions3 by Madus, which itself was a continuation of Factions2 by MassiveCraft (the original creators of Factions for Minecraft). This version has been updated to support Minecraft 1.21.4 and above.

If you're unfamiliar with the concept of Factions, it allows players to join groups (i.e. "factions") and claim land for their group to build a base. It is an anti-griefing system that promotes diplomacy and war, and allows faction leaders to control who can do what in their faction land. Factions can declare wars and forge alliances with other factions, while fighting over land.

As this particular implementation is a fork of Factions3, it currently requires MassiveCore to run (which is supplied with the download). However, in a future release I hope to modify the plugin to no longer require MassiveCore.

The code for this plugin is open-source and can be found on GitHub. Releases and the Wiki are also found there. If you find bugs, please file an issue on the Issues page there.

Installation

Factions3 Renewed is super easy to install. Simply download the latest .JAR file, then drop that in your plugins folder in your Spigot/Paper server files. Once you've done that, restart your server, then you can configure your permissions plugin of choice to add the permissions. That's it! Configuration

Configuration of Factions3 Renewed is optional. The default configuration works perfectly for most use-cases. However, if you want to make tweaks to your configuration, you can read the legacy docs on web.archive.org (as they are no longer available on MassiveCraft's website). We will eventually create new versions of this documentation on the Wiki and will update this page when that is available.
