TimeWorksPlus SSN Copier
Notice: As of May 2022, this utility is no longer functional as Swipeclock has removed SSNs from TimeWorksPlus. As such it is now considered archived.
In an effort to improve security, Swipeclock is removing SSNs from its main timekeeping product, TimeWorksPlus. This webpage allows copying of existing SSNs from the SSN field to the Employee Code field in TimeWorksPlus which should help as a temporary solution for client sites where the SSN is being used as the employee's unique identifier. As an alternative, it can be used to set the Employee Code to be the last four of the SSN, however, this is not as unique of a value, so if duplicates are encountered, some employees will not be updated. In addition, if the SSN field is blank or not a valid SSN, those employees will also not be updated. Results will be logged and displayed after updating employee codes.
Important Note: This utility does not delete SSNs from TimeWorksPlus. It only copies it to the Employee Code field. Use the built in SSN Utility inside TimeWorksPlus to remove the actual SSN field values.
- Enter your Accountant ID and Accountant Level API Secret. Once entered, click continue. A few notes about this:
- The Accountant Level API Secret is found in the Accountant Menu ≫ Accountant Level Secret Management page inside TimeWorksPlus. Only Accountant-level logins and higher can see/access this page.
- If the API Secret does not exist, you can generate one using the "Generate" button on that page. Do NOT generate a new one if one already exists, simply copy the existing one.
- Select your copy settings such as if you want to replace existing Employee Codes, if you want to copy the entire SSN or just the last 4 to the employee code, etc.
- Review changes you selected, then submit those changes. A log of both successful changes and unsuccessful changes will be displayed.
